Chef Andy Havey, Bold

Chef Andy Havey was born and raised in Kalamazoo. He obtained a formal culinary training at Johnson & Walesin South Carolina, where he graduated with an AAS Culinary Arts degree. He served as Executive Chef at Bourbon St. Bistro in Colorado and then became Banquet Chef/Sous Chef at Moody’s Bistro in California, where he fine-tuned his culinary skills and education under the direct supervision of Executive Chef Mark Estee. Chef Havey returned to Kalamazoo, where is now the Head Chef at BOLD. He has a soft spot for Michigan State sports, Tex-Mex cuisine and Corona Light—no lime!

Chef Nate Shaw, Webster’s Prime

Chef Nathan Shaw grew up in mid-Michigan adoring the meals his Japanese grandmother prepared. He was fortunate to travel to Japan, Mexico and all over America to open his eyes to the world of gastronomy. Since then, has had the privilege to work with terrific mentors at Greenleaf Hospitality Group, most recently Chef Stefan Johnson.

Chef Shaw started as a dishwasher in the banquet kitchen and worked his way to Kitchen Supervisor at Webster’s Prime. He uses his past experiences and passions to create a style of cuisine incorporating Asian technique with food sourced sensibly.

Chef Shaw met his fiancée Alexa Tipton at Webster’s, where they plan to get married. After the wedding, they will both travel to Calabria, Italy for four months. Chef Shaw has been accepted into a master’s program at the Italian Culinary Institute among only 15 other students across the world. He will share his passion for local farms, craft beer and everything ‘Michigan’ while expanding his knowledge.

Kalamazoo Country Club

Kalamazoo Country Club and Chef Todd DeKoekkoek hosted the Signature Chef’s Auction Preview Party on September 9, featuring a signature drink, hors d’oeuvres, small entrée samples and desserts, auction item preview, and a focus on the March of Dimes mission.

KCC offers individuals, families and professionals unlimited opportunities to mingle, network, play and relax. Their monthly calendar of events communicates the varied activities during each month and includes special casual and family dining experiences, family events, Member parties, sport outings, complimentary hors d’oeuvres social nights, and more.

Kalamazoo Country Club offers Clubhouse dining, the White Lakes Tavern and Grill, a Sunset Terrace, Cabana, and 1909 Room for gatherings and events.

Dana McDermott

Dana McDermott works in the Business Banking Group for Fifth Third Bank.  Dana was born and raised in the Midwest but made her home in Kalamazoo after graduating from Western Michigan University.  Her career started in financial services 12 years ago while still attending WMU and she remains active in the community through local volunteerism opportunities with Fifth Third and Gilda’s Club.

Dana is an avid reader, enjoys healthy cooking, and fitness.  She lives in Kalamazoo with her husband Rich and their yorkie-mix Mischa.

Nichole Lauraine

Nichole Lauraine is a community volunteer, board member and educational volunteer.  She currently serves as the Logistics Co-Chair for the 2015 Signature Chefs Auction. As a stay at home mother, she is devoted to her husband and children and her volunteer and service memberships show that dedication.
